This lovely character property is situated close to the edge of Almondsbury, set back from the A38 behind a neighbouring field. It is complemented by the generous mature plot of circa 0.3 acres - with the cottage at the front and lawned gardens stretching out behind. A detached character home that is beautifully presented and cleverly extended, retaining many period features. The heart of this home is the fantastic open-plan kitchen/dining/family room running across the rear, with a wood-burning stove and twin sets of French doors opening out onto the patio behind. The ground-floor accommodation also includes two further reception rooms - each with period fireplaces, plus a utility room and a cloakroom. Moving upstairs we discover four generous bedrooms, (one with an en-suite shower room), plus a luxury family bathroom - with the bath placed 'just so' for relaxing with a view of the garden. Electric gates open onto the driveway (which also leads to the adjacent property), there is off-street parking and a garage/work-shop tucked around the side of the house. And if you are hoping for a 'quick' move the 'The Cottage' is available with no onward chain!
Area Description
Almondsbury is the first village to the north of the M4/M5 interchange, ideally suited for commuters looking for a more rural lifestyle whilst remaining within easy reach of the city of Bristol. It has a popular primary school at the heart of the village (Ofsted 'Outstanding' 2017). A little further out, the local centre and market town of Thornbury offers a variety of shops, restaurants and a leisure centre. At the hub of Almondsbury are the village shop (www.almondsburycommunityshop.org.uk), the parish church of St. Marys, The Bowl public house, the doctors surgery and dental practice. The Mall at Cribbs Causeway is just one junction further down the M5 and Parkway Station is approximately 3.7 miles to the south.
Directions
From J16 of the M5, take the A38 northound. Travel through the village and cross over the M4 bridge. Pass through the traffic lights and take the second right into Woodhouse Avenue. The Cottage is the first driveway on the left hand side. The adjacent property also gains access through this gateway.
